BECAUSE OF ROSES: Ten Stories
A collection of ten short, optimistic stories on how men meet other men and perhaps begin a relationship. Men in the stories find each other in bars, on a dating ap, walking to work, at a work conference, and on one occasion through time travel. The title story concerns an American attorney, grieving the recent loss of a long-term life partner who is transferred to London and decides to live in a small Cotswold town. Other stories are set in Habana, Moscow, San Francisco, New York, small town Mississippi, and elsewhere in California. These ten stories encompass broad racial, age, and background diversity. Not all the antagonists are human even. What is love like with a ghost or maybe a leprechaun? Several stories are thematically hard-hitting, concerning gaybashing, death and grieving, ambition vs. love, righting past wrongs. Others are just funny. Take your pick.
GAY ALL YEAR
There’s a story for every month. Each is keyed to a holiday or major event that happens that month. In all of them men meet, connect, and begin sorting out a potential relationship. Read a story a month or one after the other. Start with December—the story is an BDSM Hannukah story—and work back to January, when a jogging priest encounters one of his gay neighbors walking his dog at Epiphany. In the middle of the year, an Army officer searches for his father in all of the men he meets, while ignoring love facing him every day. The holiday is, of course, Fathers Day. In GAY ALL YEAR, you’ll encounter different kinds of men in wildly different situations who connect over holidays you know and some you may not. Celebrate love whenever, wherever, and however along with them all!
INHUMAN BEINGS: Monsters, Myths, and Science Fiction
What does it mean to be attracted to someone—or something—distinctly other? The eighteen erotic stories in this collection picture encounters between men, monsters, gods, and sci-fi creatures in locations thousands of miles (and sometimes light years) apart—from a hirsute werewolf in Portland to a blue dragon god in China, a seductive humanoid virus on a faraway planet to a shapeshifting cat-man in San Francisco. Humans fall in love with a Japanese minotaur, forgotten Greek god, a late model robot headed for the scrap heap, and a long-dead lover our hero shouldn’t have dropped. Travel with the protagonists in time, place, and sexual destination. Bon Voyage!
